Standing Out
Reflect your uniqueness
Who are you, who is your business? What makes you unique? Using this to your advantage can be a strong move, rather than trying to be a copy of someone else or fit in.
Story
Storytelling is one of the most potent tools available to connect with your audience. Tell a story someone can connect to and see themselves in. This can be subtle - the natural story in every photograph or in a series of photographs. It could also be you sharing the journey of your business, letting people connect to the real people behind it all. It could be a story planned out, that captivates or creates suspense, drawing people in to feel genuinely invested in your journey.
Authenticity
Social media is a -social- space. People want to interact, to connect with real people, to feel acknowledged. We’re less likely to follow an account that posts only products, repetitive or flat content. When I open social media I want to connect, to be inspired by images and words. The businesses I feel most connected to are those who really manage to build a relationship with their audience, who show themselves in an authentic way which makes me feel more understood and less like I’m being sold something.
Be bold
Having bold images that stand out is especially helpful for website. Bold doesn’t necessarily mean high contrast, it means strong images with a consistent or obvious style. These will help give a professional and high quality feel to your website. If you have put in the effort to create strong images, people will feel your business is serious, to be trusted, professional, has authority, not temporary.
